The city of Akragas, described by the Greek poet Pindar as "the fairest city of mortals," was founded in 580 BC. The city is situated on a plateau not far from the coast (3 KM), protected to the north by the hills of Rupe Atenea and Colle di Girgenti, to the south by the Valley of the Temples, surrounded by the rivers Akragas and Hypsas. Its port (Empórion) is at the confluence of the two rivers, where the fishing village of San Leone is located.
Almonds and olives are the most notable elements of "Valle dei templi" agricultural landscape. The almond, which blooms in late winter, from December to March, with colors ranging from pure white to various shades of pink, is one of the elements that most gave rise to the myth of the eternal Sicilian spring.

Day 1: Benvenuti on the sunny island + piano bar
Arrival at Catania or Palermo airport. Reception by our assistant and transfer to the hotel in the Agrigento area. Welcome cocktail in the evening. Dinner then piano bar and overnight stay.
Day 2: HD excursion UNESCO World Culture Valley of the Temples
After breakfast, enjoy the amenities of your hotel, a stroll along the sea through dunes and yellow-gold beaches. In the afternoon, Agrigento's "Valley of the Temples" awaits you, one of the most important archaeological sites of antiquity. Here you can take a long walk through one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. Framed by flowering meadows and old almond trees are the classic temples of Juno, Concordia, Hercules, Zeus, Castor and Pollux. Your guide will provide you with the necessary information. Lunch at the hotel, free in the evening, overnight.
Day 3: Day at leisure
There are numerous attractions of the city, the Archaeological Museum, the Kolymbetra Garden, the old town, nearby also the chalk walls of the "Scala dei Turchi", the house where Luigi Pirandello was born, the Pirandello Theater, the Duomo, Santa Maria dei Greci (ex Athena Temple), the monumental Lucchesiana Library, one of the oldest and most important on the island, the "Santo Spirito Monastery and Church". Other options are excursions, sports, wellness or just relax and enjoy a drink by the pool. Lunch at hotel, evening free, overnight.
Day 4: Hd Excursion Eraklea Minoa - Monte Kronio - Sciacca + Piano bar
The course of the journey leads through the Sicani Mountains to Eraklea Minoa, a small archaeological site near the Platani River. The view of the sandy beach and the high and steep chalk walls are wonderful. Continue along the fascinating landscape of the slopes of the Sicani Park to Sciacca, one of the oldest thermal spas in the world: Monte Kronio that tells of ancient myths. In its steaming caves, the natives let their imaginations run wild to explain the natural phenomena. Next you see the Piazza Scandaliato with a beautiful view of the port. Then time for strolling and shopping. The afternoon is yours. Dinner with piano bar and overnight stay.

The highest mountain in the Park of the Sicani Mountains, resembles its counterpart, Mount Etna, 150 km away. Conically shaped, with a fantastic all-round view over western Sicily. The area has always been known for its excellent cheese and meat products. The D.O.P. Cheese = protected designation of origin, comes from the lovely surrounding pastures. World Famous Wines, County D.O.C. Sclafani Bagni and a world champion olive oil round off an excellent offer.

In the morning you will see all the sights of the lively port city of Palermo with our local guides, such as the Cathedral, the Cappella Palatina in the Norman Palace and the Martorana Church. You will be amazed by the cathedral in Monreale with its magnificent Byzantine mosaics. Then walk through the famous markets and the old town to discover the city on your own.
