Wine land Sicily

Since Ömer's Odysseus at the latest, we know that wine plays a major role in Sicily. With this trip we offer you a fascinating insight into the three thousand year wine history of the island.

We roam through temples of antiquity, baroque cities, unique cathedrals and browse colorful markets. We discover the island's wine routes, visit villages and towns, combine the enjoyment of different wines with the excellent local cuisine. We visit small and large wineries, chat with oenologists and wine scientists, from whose knowledge the modern Sicilian wines are made and let us be enchanted by the mythical landscape that brings it all together.

Day 2: “Living Palermo”

The old town pulsates with life, the initiatives of museums, galleries, theaters and opera houses are of the highest level. Your program begins in the Palace of the Normans, here is the Palatine Chapel: you will never be able to get away from amazement. They adore the gold mosaics, the entablature decorated with stars and stalactites and eagerly listen to the comments of the tour guide. The cathedral with the royal tombs, the Quattro Canti in the heart of the old town, also called "Piazza del Sole", the Martorana Church and the Piazza Vigliena in front of the town hall are within walking distance. From here it is "colorful": You stroll through one of the historic markets of Palermo, Vucciria, Ballarò or Capo, which after "FORBES" is the capital of street food in Italy and is listed among the 5 most important in the world. Here you can try "pane, panelle and arancini" and other specialties.

In the afternoon you will reach the historic winery of the "Duca di Salaparuta", an important pioneer of modern wine production in Italy. Dinner and overnight.
