Day 1: Arrival in Catania

Depending on the arrival, a light sightseeing program can be carried out e.g. Noto, a World Heritage Site since 2002. The sights of this city are numerous: the Palazzo Ducezio, the cathedral, the small theater Vittorio Emanuele, the Campanile, the San Carlo church and much more.

Dinner and overnight in the Syracuse area - Noto.

 

Day 2: Pantalica and Syracuse

You hike along the Anapo River, the former narrow-gauge railway. Again and again you are impressed by the small river lakes in the middle of the high canyon walls and the more than 5000 graves from the younger Stone Age that arouse your curiosity for the inhabitants of the area at that time. (KM 9 KM GZ 3 HOURS / +200 M / - 200 M numerous variations are possible). In the afternoon you will reach Syracuse. Here you will visit the archaeological zone and see the largest ancient Greek theater, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman grammar school and the Doric temple of Athena, living past at every turn. Further to Ortigia the old town with the DOM, the Arethusa source and the temple of Apollo. You will be back at the hotel in time for dinner.

Day 3: Piazza Armerina - Agrigento

Today you change our hotel location and drive across the panoramic landscape of the interior of the island to the southwestern coast of Sicily. On the way you will visit Piazza Armerina.

Here you will visit the Roman Villa del Casale, which probably served as a luxurious country house for a member of the Roman aristocracy, which in turn is a world cultural heritage of the first order. Continuation to Agrigento. Pindar described it as the "Most Beautiful City of Mortals". You take an extensive walk through the Valley of the Temples and see, among other things. the Hera, the Concordia, the Zeus, the Castor and Pollux Temple and the Temple of Herakles, which seduces you into the mythical city of antiquity. Dinner and overnight in the Agrigento area.
